United States Senator Mike Lee of Utah hosted this event as part of his monthly interactive teleconference with state residents. The Senator opened the event with the recent tragedy in Paris and how it relates to Syrian refugees in our own country. The Senator also discussed the REINS Act which regulates and reduces the undue burden of excessive regulations and holds executive agencies accountable.The Senator also discussed the USA Freedom Act which he authored and aims to restrict the NSA from gathering data on private citizens. There was also a discussion about how the Affordable Care Act has actually made healthcare less affordable and Senator Lee discussed the need to repeal and replace. Senator Lee also discussed the nation's economy and the recently passed balanced budget amendment.
