The event also featured Executive Director of Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services (IRIS) Chris George and Alia Seraj, an Afghan princess living in Connecticut. The congressman provided an update on the evolving situation in Afghanistan and the guests discussed plans from IRIS to evacuate Afghan refugees, different categories of refugee status and challenges refugees are facing. There was also a conversation about the ongoing humanitarian and refugees efforts, both here and abroad.
