Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes hosted this Access Live event to discuss toxic schools and energy assistance. PECO’s Manager of Community Engagement Patricia King and Manager at Pennsylvania Gas Works (PGW) Nyisha Chapman discussed financial assistance options for utilities during cold months such as the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The second half of the event focused on school toxicity and featured Executive Director of Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) Donna Cooper and Pediatrician Dr. Denise Baker who addressed the lead found in many older school facilities within in the district and the need to act in the interest of student health.
