The American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the American Heart Association (AHA) hosted this second in a series groundbreaking collaborative initiative Know Diabetes by Heart™. The event entitled “Lifestyle Management” featured ADA Director of Medical Information Matt Peterson, ADA President of Health Care & Education Gretchen Youssef, and Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator at Stanford University School of Medicine Cindy Lamendola, who discussed the importance of diabetes and cardiovascular management and education. They outlined the 2019 American College of Cardiology and AHA prevention guidelines, specifically healthy eating, increasing physical activity, smoking cessation, and provider education and support.
