The Florida Healthy Housing Foundation hosted this Access Live event to discuss an upcoming vote by Fort Lauderdale commissioners on an ordinance that penalizes the vulnerable homeless population. The ordinance includes the ability to arrest a homeless person if they are within a certain distance of a child. This event was a call to action for residents to speak out against penalizing the poor and homeless in the community. Participants asked questions about the current conditions of homeless shelters, child protection, and more.
