Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, offers a public program called She Leads, which hosted this Access Live event to discuss financial scams. This event featured Donna Lowry, Capitol Correspondent and Host of Lawmakers and Lawmakers: Beyond The Dome on GPB-TV; Mark Fellows, CFE, CACTS, Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services, Forensic Special Initiatives Unit (FSIU), Crimes Against Disabled Adults and Elderly (CADE) Task Force; Simone Williams, Media & Public Relations Lead, BBB Atlanta & NE Georgia; Christine N. Kieffer, Senior Director, FINRA Investor Education; and Ron Long, Principal, Long Life. They discussed scams that involve banking and investments, how important it is to report a scam, and misconceptions before retirement and how much money is needed. Participants asked questions regarding if scammers numbers can be tracked and blocked and how money will be affected by the government and digital currency.
