The Canadian Cancer Society Ontario Division held this Vekeo Town Hall to bring the world of clinical trials to life for the participants. Guest Speakers Chris O’Callaghan, Sian Bowen, and Geoff Lou all spoke about how clinical trials can bring cancer prevention. There have been more than 17 thousand patients that have been involved in the 11,011 trials that have been done through the Canadian Cancer Society. They mentioned that clinical trials test new drugs, new surgery options, and also how to prevent cancer. Clinical trials are a way to formally test a research question. They mentioned that 5 million dollars is invested in clinical trials through the Canadian Cancer Society each year. Produced by Stratcom.
