Amnesty International hosted this exclusive, interactive event with Executive Director Margaret Huang to provide important updates about Amnesty’s response to the international refugee crisis. The event also featured USA Advocacy Director for the Americas Charanya Krishnaswami, and National Director of Advocacy and Government Affairs, Joanne Lin, who addressed the US Government’s treatment of asylum seekers at the southern border. Specific topics discussed included calling for the closure of the Homestead housing facility, supporting the Dignity Act, and campaigning against corporations and congress in instances of injustice.
