The Alaska Division of Retirement and Benefits (DRB) held this Access Live event to connect with members, discuss their AlaskaCare Retiree Health Plan, and answer questions. Joining the call were Emily Ricci, Steve Ramos, and Andrea Mueca from the Division of Retirement and Benefits. Hosts began the call by discussing the annual phone survey, the annual notice from Social Security and Medicare, the health reimbursement arrangement (HRA), the income-related monthly adjustment amount (IRMAA), and the tax form 1095B, which will not be mailed out this year. Participants asked questions about finding in-network providers for emergency services, as well as providers, for both Aetna and Medicare. They discussed the differences between the plans and primary versus secondary insurance, as well as what this means in terms of billing.
