To address challenges commonly faced by people living with type 2 diabetes, American Diabetes Association created Ask the Experts Q&A, a free educational series focused on diabetes management and the relationship between diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and heart failure. Open to all, participants can ask their questions to diabetes experts in a live Q&A session online or on the phone. Events are currently scheduled monthly through the end of 2022. Ask the Experts: Removing Barriers and Overcoming Obstacles: Preventative screenings and early diagnosis of complications are important for people with diabetes of all ages! Learn their importance and ways to break the barriers to making those appointments! Topic questions to include: Should kids receive eye exams as often as adults? Are exams different for children and adults? Expert: Jill Weisberg-Benchall, PhD, CDCES Expert background: Dr. Weissberg-Benchell is a pediatric psychologist with over 25 years of research experience and clinical work with children, adolescents and families with chronic illnesses and their families.
