AARP Ohio held this Telephone Townhall with the Director of the Ohio Department of Aging and Chair of the Governor’s Nursing Home Quality and Accountability Task Force Ursel McElroy to discuss solutions to improve the quality of care provided in Ohio’s nursing homes. Topics of discussion included stories of nursing homes from participants, staffing shortages in nursing homes and poor conditions in some nursing homes. The hosts also fielded questions from participants regarding the scope of the taskforce, improving staffing shortages, inconsistencies in care, and the importance of holding nursing homes accountable.
