AARP New Jersey spoke about common scams happening in New Jersey and what members can do to protect themselves from becoming victims of fraud.  AARP’s Associate State Director of Community Outreach Cristina Anastasio led the call, along with guest speaker Karin Price Mueller, fraud expert and columnist for the Star-Ledger.  Ms. Mueller mentioned current scams such as certain vacation rentals, travel gift card and free airline ticket offers, and some timeshare sales. Ms. Anastasio recommended AARP’s Fraud Watch Network service where members can reference an interactive scam tracking map, or call a hotline to speak with a fraud expert.
