AARP New Jersey hosted this Access Live event to connect with members across the state to facilitate a discussion on tax scams and identity theft. This event featured Glenn Gizzi, Senior Stakeholder Liaison, IRS, who spoke about tax scams, identity theft, and how to protect yourself. There was also discussion about common tax scams, identity theft schemes, and discussed red flags to watch for. Participants had questions about how to protect yourself from identity theft, how to report fraud, and whether financial losses from scams are able to be deducted on tax returns.
