AARP New Jersey hosted this Access Live event to discuss New Jersey’s nursing homes and other long-term care facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on reforms to help keep loved ones safe and protected from the virus. This event featured State Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle, representing New Jersey’s 37th legislative district, and Evelyn Liebman, AARP New Jersey Director of Advocacy. Together they provided important information and resources and addressed participant questions and concerns. Topics of discussion included how to assist lawmakers in positive change, current COVID-19 statistics, personal protective equipment, virus testing for residents and staff, adequate response to a positive COVID-19 case, and age discrimination.
