AARP Massachusetts Fraud Watch Network held this Access live Event to speak with participants about learning to protect themselves from identity theft and other forms of fraud. Guest speaker John Chapman, Undersecretary for the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, provided participants with proven tools and resources. He mentioned that there are mobile apps that can be used to block fraudulent calls. He also shared that if anyone is having work done on their home, AARP has a website that people can view to see if the workers that they are hiring are legitimate and registered with the state. Participants were able to ask questions live on the call, and addressed topics such as online purchases and telephone fraud.
