AARP Maryland hosted this Access Live Event to speak with members about how to protect themselves and loved ones from holiday scams. The event featured Karen Straughn from the Maryland Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection Division, FBI Baltimore Special Agent Keith Custer, and Sydney Palinkas, Community Outreach and Education Manager at ElderSafe. The experts provided information on the most prominent seasonal scams and advised on how to avoid becoming a victim. There was also discussion about online shopping, technology scams, and how to report instances of fraud.
