AARP Maryland hosted this Access Live event to discuss how to prevent scams and recognize fraud trends. This event featured Peter Franchot, Maryland Comptroller, Johnathan Lenzner, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Maryland, and Jacke Schroeder, Director of SAFE- Stop Abuse of Elders at Chana, who provided important information about fraud as well as elder financial abuse. The hosts also discussed robocalls, dangers associated with financial exploitation, and how scammers get your phone number. AARP State Director Hank Greenberg also directed participants to the AARP Fraud Watch Network.
