Help for K-6 Parents Amid COVID-19

AARP Maryland hosted this Access Live Event with leading experts in elementary education to discuss the Coronavirus and challenges associated with balancing children and caretaker needs during this difficult time. The event featured: Dr. Jennifer Goetz, child and adolescent psychiatrist at Johns Hopkins; Dr. Kim Lewis, Principal and Owner of Kim Lewis Consulting, education consultant; and Nancy Harrington, retired elementary school teacher. They discussed tactics for managing these challenges, offered advice on how to cope with stress, and provided resources to help children thrive during this time. Participants asked questions about children not wanting to wear masks, staying away from friends, and what to do to help kids focus when doing homework.
