AARP Live hosted this interactive event to educate viewers on how to take a closer look at their utility costs and share some useful information that could help save money and reduce energy consumption. Five simple things were discussed for energy efficiency to include caulking, a programmable thermostat, tune ups for heater and air conditioner, changing air filters, and adding an insulation blanket to your water heater. It was also discussed to replace at least five bulbs to LED and that would save about $75 a year on energy and use about 90% less energy overall. AARP Oklahoma state director, Sean Voskuhl and AARP Wisconsin state director, Sam Wilson shared their advice on weatherization and energy saving in very different parts of the country.
