AARP Oklahoma State Director Sean Voskuhl, AARP Wisconsin State Director Sam Wilson, and AARP Alabama volunteer, Sherry Kolodziejczak, hosted this live Vekeo event to discuss emergency preparedness. The guest speakers discussed the latest guidance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), how technology can help in protecting loved ones and gave away 8 fully stocked disaster prep kits to participants. Throughout the event, guest speakers covered a number of topics, including the difference between a meteorologist's tornado watch and warning and preparing a disaster plan, which should include a mobile go to kit, knowledge of where shut off valves are in your home and a three day supply of food and water for each person in the family, including pets.
