AARP Live on RFD-TV with guest speakers Greg Marchildon and Doug Shadel discussed how members could better protect against identity theft. Numbers for 2015 alone show that there was a 50% increase in complaints of fraud attempts. A popular scheme targets people with threats from the IRS; in fact, 2013 tax returns saw $6 billion issued to false identities in the form of tax returns filed fraudulently. Participants joined to share stories about identity theft and fraud attempts they have personally experienced and received advice on how to better protect themselves.
