This evening's event was held by AARP Florida and featured State Director Jeff Johnson with special guest Congressman Carlos Curbelo. The aim was to host a national conversation about the changes in benefits proposed by Congress. AARP is committed to protecting Medicare for the current and future generations who rely upon coverage. Congressman Curbelo stated the use of technology will help prevent the 60 million dollars in fraud that happens within Medicare every year. He also mentioned that Medicare Advantage is popular with seniors who use these programs for quality care, and is therefore concerned with proposed cuts. The congressman addressed the Health Care Plan proposed by Congress and supports the need for a new plan due to lack of affordability and accessibility.
