AARP Connecticut hosted this Access Live event to discuss long-term care, nursing homes, and resources available to help residents age safely at home. The event featured the Chief Executive Officer and Director North Central Area Agency on Aging, Maureen McIntyre and the State Long Term Care Ombudsman at the Department of Aging and Disability Services, Mairead Painter, who both discussed available care options for members and/ or their loved ones. There was specific discussion about vetting long-term care facilities and providers, and what to consider when choosing coverage during Medicare Open Enrollment.
