AARP Connecticut hosted this Access Live Event to speak with participants about the Emergency Broadband Benefit program available in the state. This event featured Eduard Bartholme,  Associate Bureau Chief, Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau at Federal Communications Commission and Burt Cohen, Broadband Policy Coordinator and Staff Attorney, State of Connecticut Office of Consumer Counsel. They explained the benefits of this program as well as how to get access the affordable, high-speed internet they need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants inquired about internet services that provide text to speech recognition as well as requesting internet service providers to give seniors a special rate.
