AARP of Connecticut hosted this event for members in the state to discuss identifying fraud and elder abuse. The call featured AARP Connecticut State Director Nora Duncan, Fairfield Connecticut Chief of Police Gary MacNamara, Dorian Long from the Department of Social Services, and Brian Austin from the State’s Attorney Office. Callers had specific questions about theft and fraud ranging from co-signing a loan to stolen medications. The hosts directed callers to the Fraud Watch Network as well as the Protective Services for the elderly with fraud and scam related issues. AARP members were also advised to be cautious with personal information this holiday season.
