AARP California hosted this Access Live Event to discuss a new federal program that can assist with the costs of high-speed internet. The event featured Eduard Bartholme, Associate Bureau Chief of the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC); Amanda Gimble, Director of Aging Connected, Senior Planet and Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) for AARP; and Strat Maloma, AARP CA Associate Director of Advocacy and Engagement, who discussed the program and classes being offered to assist with online safety and privacy. Topics of discussion included mobile phone providers in the area, program eligibility for those living on tribal lands, and the importance of protecting personal information online.
