AARP California hosted this Access Live event to discuss the recent expansion of CalFresh, California’s low-income food assistance program. The event featured the Acting Chief of the CalFresh and Nutrition Branch at the California Department of Social Services Alexis Fernandez, and the Los Angeles County Director of the CalFresh Nutrition Program DeLlora Ellis-Gant. Both experts provided information about how the program and how older adults, people with disabilities, and those experiencing homeless can apply for this benefit. Other topics addressed include eligibility, caregiving services, and other in-home services.
