This live Vekeo event was hosted by AARP California and Nancy McPherson, AARP CA State Director. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti was a guest speaker. Measure M which involves the Los Angeles Country’s Traffic Improvement Plan was the topic of discussion. Heavy traffic and poor, inaccessible and inconvenient public transportation and pedestrian infrastructure within LA County was the focus on the call. Members of AARP expressed their concerns with a Question and Answer discussion with both Nancy McPherson and Mayor Eric Garcetti. It was urged to vote Yes on Measure M. This plan will make LA County more age-friendly by easing traffic congestion, expanding the metro train and bus lines and keep senior fares low. This plan will also repair local sidewalks and pot holes. It was expressed that it is critical that Measure M pass in order to sustain healthy growth in LA County.
