AARP National hosted this Access Live event for members to discuss the COVID-19 virus and vaccine. The event featured Professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, University of Colorado School of Medicine and Anschutz Medical Campus Multidisciplinary Center on Aging, Dr. Steven Johnson; Gerontology Specialist, North Dakota State University Extension, Jane Strommen, Ph.D., AARP Executive Vice President, Chief Advocacy and Engagement Officer, Nancy LeaMond; and Coronavirus Response Lead and Vice President of Communications at AARP, Bill Walsh. The experts discussed booster shot authorization and eligibility as well as provided strategies for talking to family members who are resistant to the vaccine. There was also discussion about the flu vaccine, the importance of self-care, and maintaining a relationship with healthcare providers.
