AARP hosted this Access Live event with members to talk about the role that social security benefits play in retirement planning. Hosts provided information and answered essential questions around Social Security benefits. They also explained spousal benefits, how benefits are calculated and that benefits continue for life. Participants asked questions about early withdraws, if there are ways to make up credits to reach the 40 minimum qualifying credit threshold, what happens if you begin working after you start to withdraw social security, and potential benefits to having one spouse withdraw earlier than the other.
