AARP National hosted this Access Live event for members to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic. This event featured: Nancy LeaMond, AARP Executive Vice President and Chief Advocacy and Engagement Officer; Donna Benton, Director of the University of Southern California Family Caregiver Support Center; and Dr. Nancy Messonnier, Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) and Lead in the CDC’s efforts on the COVID-19 vaccine. Together they discussed the COVID-19 vaccines currently available in the US, specifics on vaccine dosage and the importance of getting both doses at the appropriate time, why the vaccines are not interchangeable, the new COVID-19 strain, avoiding burn out for family caregivers, and what AARP is doing to help older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic.
