AARP Hawaii hosted this Access Live event, featuring U.S. Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii, to speak with members about COVID-19. Keali'i Lopez, AARP Hawaii State Director, moderated the call and welcomed guest speakers from the local Small Business Administration, Hawaii Division of Financial Institutions, and United Way. Ms. Lopez spoke about the four rescue bills passed in Congress, which included measures that AARP fought for. Senator Schatz provided details on recent legislation to support citizens, including an increase in the paycheck protection funding for businesses. He also mentioned that food security is of top concern and will be addressed in the next round of bills. Guest speakers assisted with addressing participant questions and concerns.
